What It Is
The ASHA Continuing Education (CE) Registry is an optional service that awards learners with credit called ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
- Only those courses that are registered by ASHA Approved CE Providers can be offered for ASHA CEUs.
- Only ASHA CEUs can be listed and tracked on the ASHA CE transcript.
The annual Registry fee is $28 per year for ASHA members and $38 per year for nonmembers. Learners are not required to join the CE Registry or earn ASHA CEUs for ASHA certification maintenance.
How To Join
Use one of the methods below to pay the ASHA Continuing Education (CE) Registry fee for current, past, or future years.
- Online
If you’ve received notification from the CE Registry that one of our ASHA Approved CE Providers sent information about your recent course completion to us, you can pay the Registry fee through your online transcript. Once you're logged in, select the "Pay Invoice" link for the year you'd like to pay.
- By Phone
Call the Action Center at 800-498-2071 (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., EST), and pay the fee using your American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa.
- By Mail
Print out and complete the ASHA CE Registry application [PDF]. Be sure to fill out all required fields (starred). Mail it—along with your fees, payable in U.S. funds—to the ASHA address listed on the form.
- During Dues Renewal
Submit the ASHA CE Registry fee with payment of your annual ASHA membership dues. You will find the Registry fee information in the box marked “Voluntary Programs.” This fee covers the Registry services for the year seen on your annual dues invoice.
How To Use It
- See if you’re eligible to join the Registry.
- Pay the Registry fee for the year (the current year, or any past year with reported credit). You can do this in one of four easy ways.
- Take courses that offer ASHA CEUs. To find courses available for ASHA CEUs, go to ASHA CEFind. Or look for the “Brand Block” and “ASHA CEU sentence” in course promotions:

- Follow the ASHA Approved CE Provider’s instructions on how to request ASHA CEUs for completing the course—so that you will be awarded the ASHA CEUs when your record is reported to the Registry. Contact the Provider if you have questions about their reporting timeline.
- Check your online ASHA CE Transcript regularly as a way to track your progress toward meeting professional development requirements as well as earning the Award for Continuing Education (ACE) and specialty certifications.
- Send your ASHA CE transcript to your state licensing board or other credentialing boards when you’ve met their professional development requirements. View information on what’s required to maintain your credentials on ASHA’s State and Territory Information webpage
- The Registry will submit your compliance form to ASHA Certification when you earn 3.0 ASHA CEUs (equivalent to 30 professional development hours) during your 3-year maintenance interval and fulfill the ASHA Certification professional development requirements.
