Audiology ICD-10-CM Code Changes for 2021

The following new and revised ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) codes are effective October 1, 2020 for fiscal year (FY) 2021. ICD-10-CM codes are updated annually. For past updates, see audiology ICD-10-CM code changes for 2020 and 2019.

There are no major changes to ICD-10 codes related to audiology for FY 2021. However, audiologists should be aware of the new ICD-10 code for COVID-19 (U07.1), which was published off-cycle and became effective April 1, 2020.

New ICD-10-CM Codes

This new code is effective October 1, 2020.

H55.82 Deficient smooth pursuit eye movements

Revised ICD-10-CM Codes

This code is revised, effective October 1, 2020.

H55.81 Deficient saccadic eye movements (revised from H55.81 Saccadic eye movements)

Deleted ICD-10-CM Codes

There are no deleted codes related to hearing and vestibular disorders for 2021.
