MSLP Virtual Seminar Series

The Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP) held a virtual leadership seminar series in 2020 with two events for students interested in honing their leadership skills. This was in lieu of the traditional MSLP experience, which is typically held at the ASHA Convention. The MSLP is for undergraduate seniors, master's students, AuD students who are enrolled in communication sciences and disorders programs, and post-entry level SLP students who are enrolled in a clinical or research doctoral degree program. The videos below share practical and actionable steps for student leaders as well as those already in the professions. For more information about the MSLP, please contact mslp@asha.org.

Student Leadership for a New Day

You’ll be inspired, motivated, and equipped with the knowledge to become a leader for the professions within the communication sciences and disorders discipline—and elsewhere. The presentation begins with a keynote address from Dr. Brandi Baldwin and concludes with a question-and-answer period. This session was sponsored by Advanced Travel Therapy.

Level Up Your Leadership

In this workshop, Dr. Brandi Baldwin reframes the value of diversity within leadership to help you embrace the unique perspectives you can provide as you assume leadership roles. She also explores interpersonal dynamics and how to navigate issues of race and inequity. This session was sponsored by Speech Pathology Group.
