Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA)

Important update for members of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC)

Effective January 1, 2025:

Those who earned SAC membership on or before December 31, 2024, may be eligible to use the MRA application to apply for ASHA Certification (see below).

Those who earned SAC membership on or after January 1, 2025, must use the application found at Certification Information For International Applicants. For more information, contact certification@asha.org.

This information is for individuals who are applying for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) under the terms of the Mutual Recognition Agreement holding certification by the following signatory associations:

  • Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC)
  • Royal College of Speech Therapists in the United Kingdom
  • Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists
  • New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists' Association (Incorporated)
  • Speech Pathology Association of Australia Limited
