Audiology Pathway to Certification

Step 1


Earn your Doctoral degree from a CAA accredited program.

Tip: Save $225 off your first year of ASHA Membership and Certification by maintaining NSSLHA membership for 2 consecutive years.

Step 2


Take and Pass the Praxis Examination at any time before, during, or after applying.

Step 3


Submit your Application for Certification in Audiology to ASHA.

Please read the current standard to be aware of any changes.

Tip: Apply for ASHA certification and membership between January 1 – August 31 with ASHA’s New Professional Membership Package and receive up to 24 months of membership for the price of 12 months.

Review Period

Certification will be granted once all documents are received and approved.

The application review process can take up to 6-8 weeks from the date the last document is received.

Step 6



You have been awarded your Certificate of Clinical Competence, and your new ASHA card will be arriving soon.

You may now use the "CCC-A" credential.

Tip: Begin earning your CEUs in January of the year following your certification award.
