Preparing for the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Education Survey

The 2024 CSD Education Survey will open August 1 and close October 31, 2024, and will collect data for the Fall 2023 through Summer 2024 academic period. Follow the guidance below to prepare for the CSD Education Survey:

CSD Education Survey - 250

Review the Survey User Guide

Start by taking a few minutes to review the Survey User Guide [PDF] with instructions for how to get started and navigate within the new CSD Education Survey online platform. Get answers in the guide to important questions about this year's transition to the new online platform.

Access the CSD Education Survey Online Platform

Existing CSD Education Survey users received information in July about how to set up their access to the new online platform. Contact CSDEducationSurvey@asha.org if you are an existing user and need a copy of the instructions.

We recommend all users log in to the system prior to the August 1 launch of the CSD Education Survey to ensure access and become familiar with the new environment.

To access the CSD Education Survey online platform:

  1. Go to the CSD Education Survey login page at https://csdeducationsurvey.asha.org
  2. Enter your username and password for the CSD Education Survey's online platform (NOTE: this is not the same as your ASHA web account. Click on the "Can't log in or forgot your password?" link at the bottom of the log in page if you need to reset your password for the CSD Education Survey)

Confirm Survey User Roles and Request Changes

Your institution's Survey Signatory should review the list of current survey users for the institution by clicking on the "Contacts" tab within the online platform. Here, you can also view the type of survey user role assigned to each user: Survey Signatory or Survey Editor.

  • A Survey Signatory (typically a department chair or program director) has full survey access and is responsible for submitting the institution’s survey responses.
  • A Survey Editor has limited survey access and may assist with data entry in the Data Tables part of the survey.

After you review, if your institution needs to add, remove, or edit a survey user, the Survey Signatory should complete this online request form.

Collect and Organize Your Data

Academic programs are encouraged to begin collecting data as they become available before starting the survey. This helps ensure a smooth data entry process. Please refer to ASHA's CSD Education Survey Data Preparation Tips webpage to help your program collect these data before starting the survey. In addition, existing CSD Education Survey users received a blank survey, in the format of a fillable PDF, in July with a preview of all possible questions in both parts of the 2024 CSD Education Survey: the Institution Portfolio and the Data Tables. You may choose to use the fillable PDF as a workspace to save and organize data in advance of completing the survey online. Contact CSDEducationSurvey@asha.org if you are an existing survey user and need a copy of the fillable PDF.

Troubleshooting and Assistance

  • Recommended browsers are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
  • The Survey User Guide [PDF] contains a Troubleshooting section with guidance on how to address potential technical issues or user scenarios within the online platform.

If you continue to experience a problem, contact CSDEducationSurvey@asha.org for assistance.
