District of Columbia Insurance Requirements for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Specific Insurance Mandate

The District of Columbia has a specific autism mandate, which requires certain insurers to provide coverage for autism spectrum disorder. 

The mandate requires the essential health benefits benchmark plan to include habilitative services, including applied behavioral analysis for the treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
