What fee do I need to include with my application?

Please refer to the Dues and Fees section of How to Apply for Certification in Speech-Language Pathology to determine the payment to include with your application. If you are unsure of the category you fall into or the dues/fees to include with your application, please contact the Action Center at 800-498-2071. Applicants who are deemed ineligible for ASHA certification or who voluntarily withdraw their application for ASHA certification will receive a refund of the initial application fee, less a $50 non-refundable processing fee.

Can I pay a rush fee to expedite the processing of my application for certification?

No, there is no expedited processing fee available.

My NSSLHA membership expired last year. Am I still eligible for the NSSLHA-to-ASHA conversion discount?

To quality for the Conversion Discount, a student must be a National NSSLHA member for the last two (2) years of their master's or doctoral program. If you meet this requirement and your application is received at the ASHA National Office by August 31 of the year following graduation, you are eligible to receive the conversion discount.

Can I pay my application fee in installments?

No. Your payment must be submitted in full, US currency only, with your application.

Do I have to pay $511/$455/$286 every year?

No, the initial application fee is a one-time fee that is paid at the time of application for certification.

How much are dues/fees?

Renewal dues/fees are currently $225 annually for certified members and $199 annually for certified non-members. Certification fees and membership dues must be paid each year by December 31.

When is the next time I’ll have to renew my dues/fees?

  • Certification and membership: If your initial application and payment were received before May 1 of any year, your first renewal will be due December 31 of that same year. If your initial application and payment were received after May 1 of any year, your first renewal will be due December 31 of the following year.
  • Certification without membership: If your initial application and payment were received before September 1 of any year, your first renewal will be due December 31 of that same year. If your initial application and payment were received after September 1 of any year, your first renewal will be due December 31 of the following year.
