How to Calculate ASHA CEUs
Use the ASHA CEU Calculation Worksheet [XLS] to determine the ASHA CEUs for the course's educational content. The number of training minutes can be calculated using the ASHA CE Word Count Formula that is based on 100 words-per-minute, and/or a time-ordered agenda, excluding breaks, meals, and other non-educational events. Providers can also conduct pilot studies if they don't wish to use the 100 words-per-minute formula for all or part of a course. The total number of minutes is divided by 60 to arrive at the number of contact hours. Total contact hours, rounded down to the nearest ½ hour should be divided by 10 to obtain the ASHA CEU amount.
