Anita Vereb, PhD, CCC-A

Board Member at Large in Audiology

Anita Vereb, PhD, CCC-A, is an audiologist at the University of Michigan / Michigan Medicine’s Pediatric Audiology Department and Cochlear Implant Program. She also provides educational audiology consultant services to several school districts across Michigan. Dr. Vereb earned a bachelor of science degree in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master of science degree in Audiology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Michigan, earning a PhD in Educational Studies with a focus on literacy, language, and culture. Her research interests include language and literacy development in children who are deaf and hard of hearing. She held an adjunct faculty position at Flagler College in their Master of Arts in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing program.

Dr. Vereb has been an active member and volunteer with ASHA, with the Educational Audiology Association (EAA), and with many other local, state, and national professional organizations. She has been an active member of ASHA for 28 years. Her service to ASHA includes being a member of SIG 9, Pediatric Hearing and Hearing Disorders; a reviewer for the ASHFoundation Clinical Achievement Awards; a reviewer for various ASHA journals; a member and vice chair for the Committee on Nominations and Elections (CNE); a member of the Scientific and Professional Education Board (SPEB); an ASHA Convention Topic Chair; and Co-Chair for the 2017 ASHA Convention in Los Angeles, California.
