The 2017 AuD Student Day program at the ASHA National Office included a presentation by Dr. Elena M. Umland, PharmD, co-director of the Jefferson Center for InterProfessional Education (JCIPE) and associate dean for Academic Affairs and professor of Pharmacy Practice, Thomas Jefferson University, College of Pharmacy. Dr. Umland presented an overview of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPP) and its importance in the education of audiology students. Through a case study, the attendees worked together to discuss a patient case applicable to the IPE/IPP learning environment.
