Description
The frontal and lateral lisps are considered mild articulation errors, yet they can be difficult to change in some clients. This seminar presented practical techniques for the remediation of the six sibilants: S, Z, Sh, Zh, Ch, and J. The class began with normal production of these phonemes based on research in palatography, and progressed immediately to remediation techniques. Using evidence-based practice as a model, techniques that were discussed integrated information from the lab, the clinic, and client. These methods are derived from historic and modern texts on articulation therapy, from research data, and from the presenters own clinical experience. Class included lecture, slides, and small-group learning activities.
