Communication is a foundational component to the workplace. However, rehabilitation of workplace-related communication in persons with acquired brain injury (ABI) has only recently been explored as an area of research. There are no preferred practice recommendations for work-related communication issues. Speech-language pathologists are uniquely positioned to assess and treat these disorders but with little research to provide direction currently the state of the field is directed by idiosyncratic practice patterns. We will provide speech-language pathologists with practice options based on various models of care for individuals with ABI.
