Academic Program Self-Assessment: Quality Indicators for Integrating Research and Clinical Practice in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Programs

The revised Quality Indicators [PDF] (2014) are now available. The Quality Indicators (QIs) are a self-assessment tool to help academic and clinical programs with the successful integration of research and clinical practice.

The QIs are grouped in five sections:

  1. curriculum and department goals
  2. coursework
  3. faculty
  4. students
  5. clinical practica

The purpose of the QIs is to stimulate discussion among faculty and students and to create an action plan [DOC]. The QIs are not standards and are not designed to rank programs. For more information, please refer to the Quality Indicators presentation [PPT]. If you have additional questions, e-mail
