Doanne Ward-Williams, MEd, CCC-SLP, is owner and bilingual speech-language pathologist (SLP) at TheraPlay Bilingual Solutions, LLC, where she works with English- and Spanish-speaking children who have a variety of developmental delays and disorders in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ms. Ward-Williams completed her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders at North Carolina Central University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
In her private practice, Doanne focuses on monolingual and bilingual children during their early intervention years. She works with families and childcare educators by offering in-services to teach them typical speech and language development and to empower them with the knowledge to advocate for their children and/or students. Ms. Ward-Williams is grateful for the opportunity to serve multicultural populations within her practice. She holds the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and is licensed with the state of North Carolina.
Ms. Ward-Williams’s professional service includes serving on the Convention Planning Committee for The North Carolina Speech Hearing & Language Association, as treasurer and a past Convention Co-Chair for the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH), and in several roles for ASHA—including as a reviewer and topic co-chair (2019–2020) for the ASHA Convention Planning Committee, as a member of the Political Action Committee, and as past chair of the Government Affairs and Public Policy Board. Ms. Ward-Williams is also a proud alumna of ASHA’s Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP), Class of 2006.
