Funding Speech Generating Devices (SGDs) Using Primary Insurance and Medicaid

This live chat event will discuss the role and responsibilities of the SLP in conducting an evaluation, trials and funding request for a speech generating device (SGD) when the request is being submitted to a client’s primary insurance and/or Medicaid.   Issues surrounding completing the required paperwork, support for medical necessity, additional requirements requested by reviewers, handling denials and appeals will be discussed being aware that Medicaid guidelines vary from state to state.  This live chat will not cover funding policies related to Medicare that will be handled at a later date. The following panelists will be available to answer questions:
