Dysarthria: Causes and Number

What causes dysarthria?

Dysarthria is caused by many different conditions that involve the nervous system, including the following:

  • Stroke
  • Brain injury
  • Tumors
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Lou Gehrig's disease/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
  • Huntington's disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Medications
