Funding Options for Adult Hearing Aids

There are various options available to assist in funding for hearing aids.

  • Some private health care plans may cover the cost. Be sure to check with your health insurance company or your employer’s benefits manager to find out.
  • Medicaid may cover the cost of hearing aids and associated services for certain individuals and families with low incomes and limited resources.
  • The proposed Hearing Aid Tax Credit law would provide a tax credit of up to $500 per hearing aid, once every 5 years, for parents purchasing a hearing aid for a dependent child. This credit could also be used by persons over 55 years of age for the purchase of a hearing aid.
