Register for NOMS in Health Care

In order to participate in NOMS data collection, you must first gain the support of your staff and administration. Organizations may choose to participate in the Adult and/or Pre-Kindergarten Health Care Component(s) in one of two ways:

  1. As an individual facility

Eligibility criterionAll speech-language pathologists must be members of ASHA.

  2. As a group of facilities

Eligibility criterion: at least 75% of speech-language pathologists must be members of ASHA; however, all must be ASHA certified.

To begin the registration process, you should:

  • Identify a "subscriber" for your program. The subscriber is typically a program director or manager who agrees to serve as a liaison between your organization and ASHA. The subscriber must be a member of ASHA.
  • Complete the Subscriber Registration Form [PDF] and sign the Letter of Agreement [PDF].

A registration form is needed for each facility that will be participating in NOMS. You may use the same set of registration materials for both the Pre-Kindergarten and Adult components as long as the Subscriber is the same and the pediatric and adult programs are located in the same facility. If you choose to have a separate subscriber for each component, duplicate these registration forms and have each subscriber sign a Letter of Agreement. Individual clinicians do not need to sign the Letter of Agreement. The Registration Form(s) and signed Letter(s) of Agreement should be mailed to:

Once your application has been processed, we will grant each SLP access to the web-based training. All clinicians who will be collecting NOMS data for a facility or organization must become Registered NOMS Users by completing this online self-study training program and individually taking the User Registration Test. Clinicians may earn 0.2 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs) for successful completion of the training. ASHA will notify both the subscriber and the clinician of the results of the test. SLPs who successfully complete the registration test will be granted access to the secured online tool to initiate data collection. .

We appreciate your support in helping to build this national outcomes database and look forward to working with you in the years to come.
