Supervision and Clinical Fellowship (CF) Experience

Division 11, Administration and Supervision is sponsoring a live forum event on Thursday, July 16, 2009, 8:00–10:00 p.m. ET. During these "office hours," these experts will be available to answer your questions on mentorship/supervision during the CF:

  • Shelley Victor, EdD, CCC-SLP, Program Professor at Nova Southeastern University
  • Melanie Hudson, MA, CCC-SLP, EBS Healthcare

The event is open to all ASHA and NSSLHA members. It is not offered for CEUs.

Please note: The 2-hour forum cannot be accessed ahead of time. Postings to the forum will be allowed only during the period of the event. Afterwards, the forum content will be archived. If you have questions about forum event participation, please visit the event technical requirements page.

Special Interest Divisions Offer Pre-Convention Workshops

The day before the ASHA Convention begins, Wednesday, November 18, 2009, these divisions are offering Clinical Workshops from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.:

Note that Division affiliates enjoy reduced registration fees for events sponsored by their respective divisions!

Perspectives is the member publication of ASHA's Special Interest Divisions. If you have not activated a HighWire account, view a how-to file [PDF] or follow these steps:

  • Activate your HighWire account using your 8-digit ASHA ID No. (from your journal). Create a new ID and password.
  • Go to the Perspectives to view current and archived content (when you attempt to access full-text versions of articles, you will be prompted to use the new ID and password you created).

Don't forget to sign up for e-mail alerts on the individual Perspectives home pages. This free service automatically notifies you when new content is posted for that division's publication.

Earn CEUs!

Division affiliates can earn CEUs through self-study of Perspectives! View the 2009 Publication Schedule, including the deadlines for taking the associated CE exams [PDF]. CEUs are offered on an issue-by-issue (not article) basis, with typically .2 or .3 CEUs per issue.


2009 Forum Events (ASHA Members Only)

Divisions sponsor 2-hour live events in the ASHA discussion forums, open to all ASHA and NSSLHA members (not available for CEUs). Experts answer questions about division topics. Archived content is available online after the event ends.

Workload, Caseload

Division 16, School-Based Issues sponsored a live forum event on workload/caseload changes (archived content) on March 31.

Adult Language Disorders

Division 15, Gerontology sponsored a live forum event on adult language disorders (archived content) on February 18.

Cluttering

Division 4, Fluency and Fluency Disorders sponsored a live forum event on cluttering (archived content) on January 12.
