Three-Year Certification Maintenance Intervals

Every certificate holder is assigned a 3-year Certification Maintenance Interval. All professional development hours must be completed within this time period. Maintaining Certification is an ongoing process and once the interval ends, a new interval is assigned.

To find your interval, login to My Account and click on the Certification Maintenance link, or contact the Action Center at 800-498-2071.

Certified After 2005

For certification awarded after January 1, 2005, the 3-year interval begins the first January following the date certification was awarded. For example, certification awarded in April of 2008 would have a Certification Maintenance Interval of January 1, 2009 – December 31, 2011.

Please note: Newly-certified individuals may no longer request their first certification maintenance interval start the same year that their certification was granted.

Certified Before 2005

All hours must be accumulated between January 1 of the first year of interval and December 31 of the last year of the interval.
