Date Forecaster Instructions

Date Forecaster

The Date Forecaster can be used to calculate the ASHA Continuing Education course registration and reporting deadlines. The examples below demonstrate how to use the Date Forecaster. (Please contact your Provider Manager if you do not have a Date Forecaster and would like to receive one.)

To calculate a 15-day registration deadline for a course starting on June 2 :

  • Set the swing arm so the DATE arrow points to June 2.
  • Rotate the green wheel, without moving the swing arm, so that the DAYS arrow points to the number 16 (15 days plus the start date of the course).
  • The black line labeled FIRST DAY OF TIME PERIOD on the green wheel now points to May 18. Your Activity Registration Form must be received at the ASHA National Office by May 18 in this example.

To calculate a 30-day registration deadline for a course starting on June 2:

  • Set the swing arm so the DATE arrow points to June 2.
  • Rotate the green wheel, without moving the swing arm, so that the DAYS arrow points to the number 31 (30 days plus the start date of the course).
  • The black line labeled FIRST DAY OF TIME PERIOD on the green wheel now points to May 3 . Your Activity Registration Forms (for a Self Study or Cooperative Activity) must be received at the ASHA National Office by May 3 in this example.

To calculate a 45-day reporting deadline for a course ending on June 2:

  • Point the black line labeled FIRST DAY OF TIME PERIOD on the green wheel to June 2.
  • Rotate the swing arm, so that the innermost DAYS arrow is on the number 46.
  • The DATE arrow on the swing arm now points to July 17, the course reporting deadline. Your Activity Report Form and Participant Forms must be received at the ASHA National Office by July 17 in this example.

Reminder: When the registration or reporting deadline falls on a weekend or national holiday, materials are due at ASHA CE on the last business day prior to the deadline.
