We have developed a partnership with the Baltimore County Public Libraries. Each branch has a weekly story time for children aged 2-5. During the month of May, school SLPs volunteer to do presentations at each branch for one of these story times. The SLPs read aloud books and demonstrate, by example, how parents can develop language skills when reading aloud to their children at home. After the story time with the children, we are available to answer any questions or address concerns about speech/language/hearing development.

We also provide several handouts about the following topics: early speech/language development, practical suggestions for language enriching activities at home, and how to access help if needed. This is our 4th year and the project is going strong!
