CAA Lifts Candidacy Moratorium
Effective November 12, 2007, the Council on Academic
Accreditation (CAA) lifted its temporary moratorium on the
receipt of and action on any new applications for candidacy
status.
The CAA voted to establish the moratorium, in effect since
March 2007
,
to develop candidacy procedures, application materials, and
accompanying resources to support the implementation of the
2008 Standards for Accreditation
[PDF] and its new
candidacy (pre-accreditation) model
for developing programs, including consortia.
CAA will now accept Applications for Candidacy from eligible
graduate education programs that are submitted using the new
application form. Applications must address the 2008 Standards
for Accreditation and may be submitted for consideration by the
CAA prior to January 1, 2008.
Please refer any questions about the Candidacy Program or
candidacy application materials to the Academic Accreditation
