Audiology keynote speakers drew crowds on all three days when Convention keynotes were presented. Bronya Keats (Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans) and William Kimberling (Boys Town National Research Hospital, Omaha, NE) delivered Thursday's address, "The Genetics of Neuropathy and Usher Syndrome."
Friday's session included "Otoacoustic Emissions: Mechanisms of Generation and Efferent Suppression," presented by Christopher Shera (Harvard Medical School, Boston) and Thierry Morlet (A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, DE). "Inner Ear Sensory Stereocilia" was the second topic that day, given by Bechara Kachar (National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders, Bethesda, MD).
Lynne Werner and Kelly Tremblay (University of Washington, Seattle) presented Saturday's audiology keynote on "Issues of Development and Plasticity of the Auditory System."
Audiologists also had the opportunity to catch up with one another and discuss Convention educational offerings at a special reception at the close of the first day of the Convention.

More than 40 sessions, in addition to numerous poster presentations, focused on audiology topics. Some examples include "Babies with Hearing Loss: First Steps for New Practitioners;" "Speechreading: The Hows and Whys and Secrets of this Skill;" "Addressing Central Auditory Processing in Aural Rehab for Older Adults;" and "Helping People Change: Teaching Counseling Skills in Clinical Practice."
