This May—Better Hearing and Speech Month—members have a special opportunity to make a difference during ASHA’s 2003 Year of the Volunteer. Kick off BHSM activities as part of National Volunteer Week from April 27–May 3 by raising awareness about the role of the professions in building skills for "Communication for Life."
Use these resources to get started:
- The BHSM Web site contains sample public service announcements, press releases, resolutions, and proclamations.
- Activity books for school-aged children can be downloaded from the BHSM Web site, or members can request copies from the Action Center at 800-498-2071.
- A BHSM poster is available in the April 1 issue of The ASHA Leader or by calling ASHA Product Sales at 888-498-6699.
- A screensaver can be downloaded from the BHSM Web site.
- Specialty items with the BHSM Logo can be ordered through the BHSM Web site.
