I am writing in response to the article "Ankyloglossia: To Clip or Not to Clip? That's the Question" in the Dec. 27, 2005 issue of The ASHA Leader. The article references the Bible-the Holy Word of God-as a "common folk belief." I was greatly offended by this comment. This passage was taken out of context and used to support the author's argument/opinion on this issue.
I was always taught if you were to reference someone else you need to do it accurately. I was disappointed to know that the professional organization that has been supportive of successful communication would allow an inaccurate message to go out in print.
