On November 7, Election Day, you will have the opportunity to vote for your representative in the United States House of Representatives, and one-third of the states will be electing a new United States senator. Since this is a "mid-term" election, which means that it takes place in the middle of a Presidential term, turnout is expected to be significantly less than last year. Fewer voters will mean that your vote is all the more important. Please remember to vote this year and make your voice heard!
ASHA understands that it is hard to keep up with the candidates who are running for Congress and tried to make it a bit easier. Members can learn more about the Congressional candidates that are hoping to earn your vote by visiting ASHA's Take Action section of the Web site. With a few clicks, you can find the campaign Web sites of the candidates and also learn if your current Representative and Senator have cosponsored any of ASHA's key bills so that when Tuesday, November 7, arrives you can vote based on the knowledge that you have about the candidates and their stances on the issues that you care about.
Please visit ASHA's Get Out the Vote Web page to learn more about Election Day.
