The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, U.S. Department of Education (ED) is requesting comments and recommendations on its proposed Comprehensive Plan for National Activities under Part D of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, as amended by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA). ED is responsible for developing and implementing the Comprehensive Plan in order to enhance the provision of early intervention services, educational services, related services, and transitional services to children with disabilities under parts B and C of IDEA. ASHA is reviewing the document and will be submitting comments by the January 11, 2007 deadline.
