Building on the success of previous teacher workshops, the U.S. Department of Education will again hold a series of workshops during the summer of 2006 for teachers and principals. Teachers and practitioners will share their strategies for raising student achievement and inform teachers of the latest, successful research-based practices. The Teacher-to-Teacher Summer Workshops are geared toward K-12 teachers and principals and anyone who works directly with students. Registration for the workshops is free and is on a first-come, first-served basis. To register visit http://www.t2tweb.us/Workshops/Registration.asp.
General Department of Education workshops will cover the content areas of literacy/reading, mathematics, science, history, foreign languages, and the arts. Additional sessions will be held on early childhood education, technology in the classroom, the No Child Left Behind Act, using data effectively, and teaching strategies that can enable all levels of students - high-performing, average, and low-performing - to improve academically.
