The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has scheduled a second series of public meetings this summer, which began June 17, to seek comments on its notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) on IDEA that was published in the June 21, 2005 Federal Register. The proposed regulations are to implement recently enacted changes made to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, as amended by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004.
In addition to the dates, times, and locations of the IDEA regional public meetings, ASHA members can access tips and talking points for attending and commenting at these hearings.
