Changes at ED's Office of Special Education & Rehabilitative Services

John Hager, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) has announced the following personnel changes in its three component programs:

  • Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP): OSEP Director, Stephanie Lee, has resigned. Patty Guard, who was educated as a speech-language pathologist, will now serve as Acting Director. Previously, Patty was the Deputy Director. Bill Wolf will serve as Acting Deputy Director.
  • Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA): Dr. Troy Justesen will serve as Acting Commissioner in addition to his role as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for OSERS. Jennifer Sheehy Keller will serve as Acting Deputy Commissioner.
  • National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR): Dr. Joel Myklebust will serve as Acting Deputy Director.
