1st Quarter Highlights
A letter has been prepared to send to selected international associations related to communication sciences and disorders to collect information necessary to identify the cultural, linguistic, and political differences that impact on the delivery of services to individuals with communication disorders.
A resource list of ASHA members, service providers, and organizations associated with international service delivery has been developed.
A letter has been prepared to send to selected international associations related to communication sciences and disorders to collect information necessary to identify the language and cultural barriers within the country that may have an impact on ASHA's ability to initiate or participate in collaborative projects.

NOTE: The Executive Board has established an Ad Hoc Committee on International Issues. This Committee is reviewing all of the Issues and Outcomes in the Strategic Plan related to international issues and will be developing a plan to ensure that ASHA has the necessary infrastructure and resources to accomplish the desired outcomes included in the ASHA strategic plan. They also will be identifying specific strategies that can be implemented to achieve the desired outcomes.
