Call for 2010 Convention Program Co-chairs

ASHA's 2010 Annual Convention will be in Philadelphia and the Association is issuing a call for two co-chairs to help plan programming for the event. One candidate is needed for the area of speech-language pathology/speech and language science, and another is needed for audiology/hearing science.


To be eligible for the positions, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • experience organizing and presenting professional and scientific programs
  • administrative and organizational skills 
  • ability to work harmoniously with others 
  • acknowledged recognition in his or her profession 
  • superior written and oral communication skills 
  • ability to creatively consider new or updated continuing education formats 
  • ability to meet specified deadlines 
  • ability to use technology for communication and administrative tasks

The 2010 Convention co-chairs will serve on the Scientific and Professional Education Board (SPEB) during 2008 and one will continue on the SPEB through 2010. The co-chairs will also serve as topic coordinators on the 2009 Convention program committee. ASHA members who wish to be considered should send a letter of intent, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of support to Chair, SPEB, c/o Cheryl Russell, ASHA, 2200 Research Boulevard #325, Rockville, MD 20850. The submission deadline is June 16, 2008.
