Handouts
Beginning late summer, Convention handouts can be accessed online. Presenters are encouraged to submit their handouts to ASHA so that attendees may access them online. As handouts are uploaded, ASHA will make them available to view and print. Visit the Conference Program to view programs offered in San Diego!

Earning ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
You can earn up to 2.4 ASHA CEUs at the ASHA Convention. Simply record all your Convention CEU activities on one form during Convention. After Convention, you'll be able to print a report from a secure Web site that lists all the sessions you attended for CEUs.
ASHA CEUs are awarded for attending short courses, seminars, instructional courses, audiology keynotes, poster sessions, and technical sessions (any session with a four-digit session number in this program). ASHA CEUs are not awarded for attending committee and board meetings, exhibits, special events, or social activities. There are a few Convention activities (e.g., pre-Convention workshops) that award CEUs separately from the rest of the Convention. CEU availability will be mentioned in the descriptions of these activities.
Detailed information on earning ASHA CEUs will be available in San Diego at the Convention Center.
ASHA Professional Development is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. This conference is offered for up to 2.4 ASHA CEUs (various levels, professional and related areas). ASHA Continuing Education Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
Audiologists can earn AAA CEUs at the ASHA Convention. Information on how to obtain AAA CEUs will be available in San Diego at the Convention Center.
ASHA Professional Development is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer AAA CEUs for this Convention. The program is worth a maximum of 2.4 CEUs. Academy approval of this continuing education activity does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
Dispensing Audiologists
Selected Convention sessions have been submitted for approval by the California Hearing Aid Dispenser Bureau. Complete information will be available in San Diego.
Will the 2005 Convention CEUs Count towards Maintaining Certification?
- The Convention will count for all Audiologists who are in their three-year maintenance interval this year (2003-2005, 2004-2006, 2005-2007).
- The Convention will count only for Speech-Language Pathologists who are in their three-year maintenance interval this year (2005-2007).
For individuals whose interval doesn't start until 2006 or after, you can:
- Apply for this one-time permanent change to your intervals, which will become 1/1/05-12/31/07
- Request the change via e-mail with your ASHA ID Number, current interval, and request for the new interval (1/1/05-12/31/07) to: Carol Williams, cwilliams@asha.org.
For additional information on maintaining your certification go to ASHA's Web site.
