(see recipients of the 2005 ASHA Awards)

Join us for this important annual event that honors the highest achievement and excellence in our professions. The evening begins with the presentation of the Honors of the Association, ASHA's most prestigious award that highlights the lifetime achievements of ASHA members. The ASHA Fellows, whose contributions form the cornerstones of the professions, are also presented. Additional awards include the ASHA Distinguished Service Award, the Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism, ASHA Editors' Awards, and the NSSLHA Honors.

For the third year, the Annie Glenn award will also be presented. Annie Glenn, wife of Senator John Glenn, is known nationwide as a tireless advocate for those with communication disorders. The "Annie," given in her name, is awarded to a person who exemplifies Mrs. Glenn's own invincible spirit.

We are pleased to present the 2005 "Annie" to award-winning musician Mick Fleetwood, founder and legendary drummer for Fleetwood Mac. He has partial hearing loss due to years of not protecting his hearing. Recently he was one of 100 people who participated in an experiment at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame called "World's Quietest Concert." ASHA also took part in this experiment that measured both unamplified and amplified sounds. Fleetwood said, "What I'd hope this does is make the point that you can wear ear protection, such as earplugs, at concerts and still enjoy the concert."

Join us for an evening that promises to be inspiring as we honor the accomplishments of so many wonderful colleagues.
