The theme of this year's Annual Convention is "Using Evidence to Support Clinical Practice." This theme parallels one of ASHA's Focused Initiatives and, in turn, impacts the association's Strategic Plan. As clinicians and/or researchers, we must continue to engage in practice patterns that afford us multiple opportunities to expand upon the scientific knowledge base of our profession. Moreover, the information we generate from asking empirically based questions will, over time, have an impact on the quality and efficacy of the services we provide. The 2005 Speech-Language Pathology Program Committee's topic coordinators are an exceptional group of professionals who have been charged with developing program sessions that address this year's theme at all instructional levels, from introductory to intermediate to advanced. There will be program sessions for everyone, so submit a proposal for the 2005 Convention! This is an excellent opportunity to share your innovative research findings or your innovative clinical strategies with thousands of your professional colleagues.
I encourage you to join us in beautiful San Diego. The ASHA 2005 Convention will enrich your professional development and expand your knowledge base for addressing the ever-changing face of our discipline and the ever-changing diversity of the individuals we serve.
See you in San Diego!
