What You Need to Know

Convention Handouts

Convention handouts will be available online! Presenters will be able to submit their handouts to ASHA beginning in late summer. Once the handouts have been uploaded, they will be available to view and print out.

Turn off Cell Phones/Pagers

As a courtesy to your fellow meeting attendees, please remember to turn off (or put on silent/vibrate) cell phones and pagers while you are attending Convention educational programming.

Convention Program-At-A-Glance

The program-at-a-glance will be mailed to all pre-registrants. This program-at-a-glance combines Audiology, General Interest, and Speech-Language Pathology sessions so you can plan your schedule in advance. Sessions are listed by day and time under each topic area so that you can see everything that is available at any time of the day! Be sure to bring your copy with you to Convention.

Information for Persons With Disabilities

ASHA is committed to making the Convention accessible to everyone. ASHA will work individually with attendees to support any special needs. Please check the appropriate box on the Convention registration and housing forms. You will be contacted prior to the Convention regarding your special requirements. Assistive listening devices and interpreter services will be arranged if reserved prior to the Convention. For more information, call 301-897-5700, ext. 4249; or e-mail convention@asha.org

Program Changes/Cancellations

Be sure to check the Convention Daily newspaper (available in Philadelphia) for any changes to the educational program or Convention activities.

Tickets for Short Courses

ASHA members may register for these courses on the Convention pre-registration form. If you belong to any Special Interest Division, you can register for selected Division Short Courses at half price (the list of discounted courses is on the registration form). Most short courses sell out prior to the Convention—so register early. Seats remaining after pre-registration will be available for sale on-site in the registration area in Philadelphia.

Short Courses Sponsored by Special Interest Divisions

If you are a member of any ASHA Special Interest Division, you can register for selected short courses for a 50% discount. You will pay only $27.50 for the Division-sponsored short courses. You may notice other short courses sponsored by Divisions; however, only the courses listed on the registration form are eligible for the discounted fee.

To join one or more of the Divisions, call the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071. Then register for the Convention and indicate you are a member of the Division. By the time your registration is processed, your name will be in the system as a Division member.

  • New CEU Reporting Process This Year

You’ll find some differences in our CEU reporting process this year! Our forms have been redesigned to let you enter the specific sessions you attended. All Convention CEU activities, including short courses, will be reported on the new CEU Participant Form—no scan cards! The new system will enable us to report your CEUs more promptly, and will let us record detailed information on the sessions you attended.

Specific instructions will be provided at the Convention. Stop by one of the CE Information Desks located in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
