As part of its focus on early learning, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) has created an Early Learning Initiative Web page. The new page provides information on:
- key programs, funding opportunities, resources and publications, technical assistance, and interagency work;
- early learning in the Administration's proposal for reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education; and
- investments in early learning across Departments.
It includes presentation materials, a webinar, blog posts, and public comments from ED's Listening and Learning about Early Learning tour, as well as information about the upcoming Early Childhood 2010: Innovation for the Next Generation Conference, which will be held August 3–4 in Washington, DC.
For more information, please visit Early Learning Initiative or contact Catherine D. Clarke, ASHA's director of education and regulatory advocacy, via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 800-498-2071, ext. 5611.
