The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is hosting a series of teleconferences to discuss the Health Insurance Marketplace and expanded health insurance coverage for the uninsured. These teleconferences provide a unique opportunity for members to call in to the CMS Regional Offices and get the latest information about the Health Insurance Marketplace (Exchanges), which are part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). They also provide the opportunity for individuals to speak with CMS representatives about strategies they can use to educate the uninsured, under-insured, and small businesses about expanded insurance coverage options.
Registration for the teleconferences is required, and the number of available phone lines is limited. If you are unable to participate in your Region's call, you may attend another of the Regional sessions. For dates and times for the calls, visit the CMS website [PDF] or contact Laurie Alban Havens, ASHA's director of private health plans and Medicaid advocacy, at [email protected] or 301-296-5677.
