The ASHA Convention provides a once-a-year opportunity to learn about the latest evidence-based practice, polish your skills, improve your techniques and gain new tools and resources to advance your career and augment your workplace. There is so much to do at the ASHA Convention between attending education sessions, visiting the Exhibit Hall and participating in other special activities that you might not know where to start.

Final Information and Reminders

As you prepare for the ASHA Convention in Orlando, take a moment to read through this important information.

Bring Your Badge

If you opted to have your badge mailed to you in advance when registering, don’t forget to bring it with you to Orlando. If you did not opt to have your badge mailed in advance, or if you did not receive it in the mail, you will need to come to Registration to get your badge.

Materials Pick-Up

Orange County Convention Center, Level 2, Exhibit Halls WB1-4

Bring your badge to the Materials Pick-Up area near Registration during the hours listed below to receive your Convention bag, Program Book, Exhibit Guide, and other special items.

Wednesday, November 19
11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 20
6:00 a.m. – Noon

After these hours, you may pick up your materials at one of the badge printing stations nearby.

Shuttle Buses

Complimentary shuttle service to and from the ASHA hotels and Orange County Convention Center will run from November 19–22. View the shuttle bus routes and schedule [PDF].

For the Closing Party, shuttles will provide transportation from the hotels to Universal Orlando® and back per the routes and boarding locations listed on the schedule. A private entrance to Universal Orlando®, accessible only by the event shuttles, will be used to drop off and pick up attendees. A wristband will be required to board the buses to Universal Orlando® and gain entry to the party. Ticket holders must exchange their ticket for a wristband at the ASHA Member Services Center by 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Program Planner Mobile App

Download the Program Planner mobile app to your smartphone or tablet so you can take the complete ASHA Convention program with you anywhere. The app offers all of the functionality of the full Program Planner in a simple, easy-to-use mobile version that allows you to browse sessions, search authors, build a schedule, and even view floor plans of the Convention Center. In addition, you can view all of the exhibitors in Exhibit Halls WB1-4. The Program Planner mobile app makes on-the-go Convention planning easy! The app is available for Android or iOS devices.

Program Updates

The Program Planner is always up-to-date and you are strongly encouraged to use it as your primary reference for session information.

Program Addendum [PDF] listing updates and changes to sessions that have occurred since the Program Book was printed will be available on Wednesday at Registration and Materials Pick-Up, Information Booths, and other key locations at the Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Orlando. Please be sure to take a copy. Daily Update sheets listing the day’s meetings and events, as well additional session changes, will be available each morning as well.

  • Use the Program Planner in advance or stop by the kiosks at the Convention Center to create your schedule of sessions.
  • The Pocket Planner is an abbreviated listing of 1-hour and 2-hour oral seminars.
  • Printable PDFs featuring session listings by type.
  • Use the Virtual Expo to preview exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall and view the floor plan.

Convention Policies and Services

Before you head to Orlando, take a moment to familiarize yourself with some of the ASHA Convention policies and logistical information. You'll find need-to-know info on such topics as parking, coat and luggage check, badge policies, accessibility for those with disabilities, rooms for nursing moms, and much more.

ASHA Convention on Twitter

Follow the ASHA Convention on Twitter at @ASHA_events for important updates and announcements about what’s happening on site in Orlando. Search using the hashtag “#ASHA14” on Twitter to connect with fellow attendees and exhibitors and use it while tweeting from Convention.

In keeping with our 2014 theme, "Science. Learning. Practice. Generations of Discovery," each day will feature a special hashtag to use to show us your growing family in the professions. Each day, we will pick the best tweet that uses the daily hashtag and award a prize. Plus, each person who tweets using the special hashtags will be entered into a drawing for a Fitbit!

In addition to over 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services in the Exhibit Hall, you can take advantage of special savings, activities, and events at the ASHA Convention in Orlando.
