North Dakota Support Personnel Laws and Regulations
The following information includes laws and regulations for speech-language pathology and audiology support personnel in educational and other practice settings. The information is reviewed on an annual basis. Please be advised that regulations and policy may change at any time, so always check with your state for the most up-to-date information.
School Setting Requirements
A speech-language pathology paraprofessional (SLPP) may only provide speech-language pathology paraprofessional services under the direct control of a supervising speech-language pathologist. SLPPs must have either:
- On or before October 1, 2003, have a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders and at least 100 clock hours of supervised field-related experience; or
- Have completed an associates or bachelor's degree which incorporates:
- 30 hours of general college education
- 30 hours of college education in the area of speech-language pathology
- 100 clock hours of supervised field-related experience
Statutory and Regulatory Requirements
Support personnel are not licensed by the state.
