Assessment and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) can be challenging. This webinar will focus on evidence-based practice (EBP) – or using a combination of current, best research; clinical expertise; and client values – to inform decision-making when assessing and treating children with CAS. The presenter will explore CAS literature, including what is available via ASHA’s Evidence Map. She will also discuss ideas for growing and integrating clinical expertise as well as strategies for identifying and incorporating client and family values into clinical practice.
You will be able to:
- use principles of EBP to evaluate and select appropriate assessment measures for children with CAS
- use the three prongs of EBP to evaluate and select suitable treatment protocols for children with CAS
- identify and integrate client/family values and clinical expertise when working with children with CAS
