Applying Swallowing Physiology to Diagnosis and Treatment Decision-Making (On Demand Webinar)

This course is an exclusive ASHA member benefit

Despite increasing expectations on SLPs to apply principles of physiology in dysphagia management, both new and seasoned clinicians report receiving very little training on swallowing physiology and its immediate clinical applications. This course – a sample of the practical content offered at ASHA’s Health Care Connect conference –will boost SLPs’ clinical knowledge of normal and impaired swallowing as well as their confidence in diagnosis, treatment, and critical thinking in dysphagia management. The course will discuss how to apply the fundamentals of swallowing physiology to diagnosis and treatment decisions using a four-step process.

You will be able to:

  • apply principles of physiology in clinical practice
  • apply objective physiologic metrics
