2019 Coding and Documentation Update for SLPs (On Demand Webinar)

Available now! Watch anytime before January 23, 2020.

The reimbursement landscape for SLP services continues to focus on functional and meaningful outcomes rather than the quantity of services rendered. This webinar will help SLPs stay current on changes that affect coding, billing, and documentation. Participants will receive the latest coding and reimbursement updates that impact SLPs as well as tips on how to use Current Procedural Terminology (CPT codes), the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, and the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision (ICD-10). Health care payment systems – such as Medicare Parts A, B, and C; Medicaid; and private health insurance – may differ among practice settings (e.g., acute care, skilled nursing care, outpatient). We will define and differentiate these payment systems and answer participants’ questions.

Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:

  • explain and apply the two health care coding systems to improve your billing practices
  • state changes to the 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) as they apply to the practice of speech-language pathology
  • describe proposed changes in the prospective payment systems for skilled nursing facilities in 2019 and home health services in 2020
  • compare ways to chart efficiently on paper and in electronic health records to support your skilled SLP services
