February 12, 2014

The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, U.S. Department of Education, is inviting applications for new awards for fiscal year (FY) 2014 for the grant priority titled Personnel Development To Improve Services and Results for Children With Disabilities-Personnel Preparation in Special Education, Early Intervention, and Related Services (CFDA 84.325K).

Preparation programs that lead to clinical doctoral degrees in related services (e.g., a doctor of audiology [AuD] degree) are eligible to apply for this priority: CFDA 84.325K. The deadline for transmittal of applications is April 8, 2014.

Applications for the competition became available February 7, 2014. The competition is authorized under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education and private nonprofit organizations. The purpose of the Personnel Preparation in Special Education, Early Intervention, and Related Services priority is to improve the quality and increase the number of personnel who are fully credentialed to serve children, including infants and toddlers, with disabilities-especially in areas of chronic personnel shortage-by supporting projects that prepare special education, early intervention, and related services personnel at the baccalaureate, master's, and specialist levels.
