Coordinating Committee Elections
2020 SIG Coordinating Committee elections will be open Wednesday, May 20, 2020, through Wednesday, June 24, 2020,
11:59 p.m., Central Time. ASHA has partnered with Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS) to administer these elections; eligible affiliates* will receive election information from "ASHA SIGs Election Coordinator" (
firstname.lastname@example.org). To ensure that your SIG Coordinating Committee election e-mails arrive safely in your inbox, add
email@example.com as an approved sender.**
Look for the following election notices:

- May 26–28
- Paper notification mailed (to those unavailable by e-mail)
- June 1
- E-mail reminder
- June 10–11
Reminder letter mailed (to all eligible voters who have not voted as of mid-May)

SIG 10, Issues in Higher Education
SIG 11, Administration and Supervision
SIG 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication
SIG 13, Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia)
SIG 15, Gerontology
SIG 18, Telepractice
The following SIGs will not have vacant elected positions for the 2021–2023 term, so no elections are being held in 2020:
Per SIG policy regarding filling elected committee vacancies (see Nominations and Elections section of the
SIG Volunteer Leadership Handbook [PDF]), the following SIGs will also not hold elections in 2020; positions on these committees have been won by acclamation.
Candidate information, including a link to the candidate's profile on the ASHA Community, will be available on the online ballot. You must log in
to the ASHA
Community to view the profiles.
Names of all new Coordinating Committee members will be released following the SIG elections.
Visit the SBS website to
remove yourself from mailings from SBS; please note that if you want to receive mailings for future SIG elections, you will have to contact SBS to have your name and e-mail address returned to the contact list.

*Only SIG affiliates (ASHA Members,
including those who joined SIGs as doctoral students) are eligible to
participate in the elections. International Affiliates, Associates, and NSSLHA
members are not eligible to vote or hold office. ASHA membership and SIG affiliation
had to be current as of Monday, May 4, 2020.
