The SIGs are now accepting nominations to fill elected vacancies on their Coordinating Committees (CC) for the 2020-2022 term. These committees are responsible for leading the activities of the SIGs—such as Perspectives content, continuing education activities, and policy and advocacy matters—and ensure that they operate within established programmatic guidelines [PDF]. CC members, with the exception of the appointed Editor and Professional Development Manager, are elected by a plurality vote of the Affiliates in the respective SIG.
Check the Submit a SIG Nomination web page for more information. Nominations must be submitted through the online form by March 25, 2019.
Experience Required: You must be a current Affiliate of the SIG for which the nomination is submitted to be eligible for consideration.
No prior committee experience is required, however, the current Coordinating Committee may be looking for individuals with certain skill-sets, expertise, etc. depending on the needs and planned activities of the SIG. Any information related to this will be provided on the respective SIG Affiliate discussion group on the ASHA Community.

Number of Volunteers Needed: Number of vacancies varies by SIG; check your SIG's Affiliate discussion group on the ASHA Community for details.
NOTE: SIG 2 (Neurogenic Communication Disorders), SIG 3 (Voice and Upper Airway Disorders), SIG 5 (Craniofacial and Velopharyngeal Disorders), SIG 8 (Audiology and Public Health), and SIG 14 (Cultural and Linguistic Diversity) will not have vacant elected positions for the 2020-2022 term, so those SIGs are not holding elections in 2019.
