Description of Opportunity: Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups is the affiliate publication for the ASHA’s Special Interest Groups; it features articles from all 19 SIGs.

ASHA’s Board of Directors recently approved the transformation of Perspectives from a peer-reviewed newsletter into a peer-reviewed scholarly review journal as of January 1, 2019. To help guide Perspectives in this new direction, four editors-in-chief (EICs) will be added to the editorial roster. Each of the Perspectives EICs will manage a group of four to six Perspectives issues spanning related areas of the discipline and/or the population/setting covered, and each issue will continue to have its own editor. The EICs will work collaboratively with the SIG issue editors within their respective groups. In addition to the focus on content planning and recruitment, these individuals will have oversight and editorial board calibration duties very similar to those of the EICs for other ASHA journals.
