Tips for a Successful TV Interview
Relax, don't fidget or move around.
Find out as much as you can about the interview and the interviewer ahead of time.
Be attentive. Talk to the reporter, not to the camera.
Dress in comfortable clothing. Solid colors and modest jewelry are best.
Determine key messages and facts before the interview.
Be brief. Avoid rambling or lengthy statements. Stick to your key messages and avoid jargon.
If you do not know the answer to a question, say so. Offer to find out the answer and get back to the reporter.
Be energetic and animated without being comical or extreme.
Be yourself. Try not to sound like a news anchor!
